Fall Color Ride

LITTLE ELDON CAMPGROUND OCT 7-8

What a fun time we all had!  Fifteen riders saddled up on Saturday morning to enjoy the beautiful fall colors north of Flagstaff.  Randy and Betty took the lead as they know this area. We rode thru the aspens on the Weatherford trail. We found a beautiful meadow to enjoy our lunch while our horses grazed.  Randy and Sondra decided to ride to the top of the mountain while the rest of us headed back to camp.  I heard they rode 20 miles total!  Way to go.  They got back in time to enjoy the potluck dinner.  What a feast!  Barbeque beef and chicken, potato salad, chili, salad, green bean casserole, and chocolate chip cookies for desert.

Bailey, Bynlinda's daughter, entertained us around the campfire.  She sang "Red River Valley" and "Red Neck Woman".  She is planning on learning to play the guitar now.  We all look forward to more campfire songs from her!

On Sunday, we headed to the Kachina trail.  Hard to believe, but it was even prettier than the Weatherford trail!  Some of us took some really good pictures to remember this ride.  The weather was a little nippy, but we found it a welcome relief from the hot valley weather.  Even though there was a threat of rain, it never materialized.  It did hail a little on Sunday, but quit as soon as we all had our slickers on!

This was such a great ride and would maybe this can be an annual ride!
